Episode 9: Christmas Revamp
After I planned our entire holiday season this year I sent out a family text listing important dates and parties that everyone should plan to attend. The first text I received was from one of my son’s who asked a simple question, “How many times are we going to celebrate Christmas?” Instinctively, I explained the who’s and where’s we were going, and assured him he wasn’t required to go to attend if he didn’t want to. But, I think we all knew (me included) that wasn’t exactly true as there is always massive pressure to see all family members and have some sort of fun, love and laughs on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Fast forward to a few days after the 25th where my answer to his question changed, “We don’t. We’re changing shit up.”
Join Carla and Amy as they commit to doing Christmas differently. They focus on the hard truth - the kids are grown, there are no grandchildren and a 30 year-run of holiday decorating, cookie baking, elves on shelves and present buying is sufficient.
The actual Christmas Revamp Instructions are to be created, so there’s likely to be a follow up as the fall approaches.
Enjoy the convo!
